At Orinda Aquatics, building a great team begins with building a strong community. Beyond the challenging workouts and early mornings, our swimmers, coaches, and families share traditions that span decades. Here is overview of what we have done over the years, both in and out of the pool.
Mentorship & Team Bonding
We believe in supporting one another across all age groups. Our mentorship programs bridge the gap between our youngest athletes and senior leaders.
Senior/Junior Team Building: Focused events designed to unite the entire team and build lasting friendships.
Buddy Activities: Fun, casual get-togethers throughout the season for buddies (Senior connected to Junior) to connect and support each other.

Annual Traditions & Socials
From parent mixers to our formal end-of-year celebration, these are the staple events that bring the entire OA community together.
Annual Team Banquet: Our premier year-end celebration honoring our swimmers' extraordinary achievements, and of course, our graduating seniors.
Team Rafting (Summer): A favorite summer tradition! The team hits the river for a thrilling day of whitewater rafting and bonding.
Team Breakfasts: Nothing beats post-workout hunger like a massive team breakfast after a tough Saturday morning session.
Parent Social: A dedicated evening for Orinda Aquatics parents to connect, relax, and build community outside the bleachers.
Our (Famous) Theme Workouts
Training hard doesn't mean we can't have fun. Orinda Aquatics is known for our legendary theme workouts, which bring an extra spark of energy to the pool deck during the holidays.
Did you know? Several of Orinda Aquatics' unique theme workouts are featured in Bob Steele’s acclaimed swim coaching book, "Games, Gimmicks and Challenges"!
