PROSPECTIVE Swimmers:
Join the Team
Character First. Aquatic Develeopment. Competitive Excellence.
Welcome to Orinda Aquatics, a nationally recognized year-round competitive swimming program. Our mission is to foster the pillars of character, integrity, work-ethic, and team commitment through a structured, highly disciplined, and positive team culture.
To maintain the efficiency of our training groups, all prospective year-round athletes must be coach-approved through a tryout or evaluation prior to formal registration. We assess stroke balance, training ability, and overall fit for the program. Your journey toward the upcoming competitive season begins below.
The Tryout & Evaluation
-
Age-Group Swimmers:
General tryouts take place over 2–4 days in late August. Ideal candidates possess a competitive swimming background (such as Summer League or USA Swimming) and a strong passion for the sport.
-

High School Athletes
High school-aged swimmers: please bypass general tryouts and contact Head Coach Donnie directly at don@orindaaquatics.org to discuss fit, placement and reasons for pursuing year-round swimming.
-

College Prospects
For college athletes new to Orinda Aquatics, please reach out to Don or Ron Heidary to discuss fit and options.
